What Is Keeping You From God's Word?

Greetings to all, let us thank God as we continue to move through this blessed week. May we seek His wisdom to strengthen and enlighten us about which way we should go and what we should do. Amen

To live our lives declaring that we are children of the Most High God, we must have a clear picture and an understanding of what He wants us to believe, declare, and do.

Our God is generous, and He will give wisdom to each of us who needs it if we ask; so that we can know what we should do (James 1:5).

The problem with that is, we have an adversary who goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). He doesn't want us to know God's word. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10); all that God says is good. That includes all of Humanity.

Our enemy knows that his time is limited, and his fate is already sealed. He also knows better than we do that God's word is described as being more powerful than a double-edged sword that can expose and cut away sin changing our lives forever.

Hebrews 4:12-13 (HCSB)

12 For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints, and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart.

13 No creature is hidden from Him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.

So he does everything in his limited power to keep us away from the word of God, even if it means distorting it, using his influences to distract us, even causing us to be discouraged because of a lack of understanding.

What's keeping you away from God's word?

Joshua 1:8 (HCSB)

8 This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then, you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.

Lesson: As Christians, we all have a desire to spend time with God in His word. So, let's not allow Satan and the seemingly innocent things of this world to keep us from God's word.
