Well Done!

Greetings to all, as we begin this new week, let us thank God in advance for every opportunity and responsibility that come our way. Let us use them to bring glory and honor to Him. Amen

Since each of us has many roles and positions that we are expected to manage or get done; I suspect some of us would think twice or be reluctant to say that we wanted more responsibilities. On the other hand, some will take pride in taking on more.

Since the beginning of time, we've been expected to work. In the book of Genesis chapter 2:15, we see that Adam was placed in the garden by God and commanded to work it and take care of it.

Luke 17:10 (TLB)

10 Just so, if you merely obey me, you should not consider yourselves worthy of praise. For you have simply done your duty!"

I don't think that there's anyone who doesn't want to hear that they are doing a good job or well done. We are all deserving of recognition and appreciation for what we do.

However, whether it's on our job or building God's kingdom, we should desire to give our best and be committed to serving with integrity and honor despite the absence of awards or accolades.

Matthew 25:21 (KJV)

21 His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

Revelation 22:12 (GW)

12 “I'm coming soon! I will bring my reward with me to pay all people based on what they have done.

Lesson: We are blessed to be chosen to be God's faithful and trustworthy servants.

Man is the giver of awards for what we do, but God is the giver of rewards for what we do.
