Greetings to all, may we have a good Monday morning, Afternoon, or Evening. We have a lot to thank God for this morning. Today we are beginning a new week. May our faith remain strong in the Lord, and may each of us find the strength we need today. Amen
With each new day, our lives can be filled with many unexpected struggles. Some people think that believers are immune to having struggles. We are all living in some uncertain days, but we must all embrace life and look to God for help, and we must trust and believe the Lord to sustain us regardless of life's uncertainty.
As believers, though, we must always be ready and willing to share the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. A hope that is unshakable when we're rooted in Him.
Today's scripture is believed to be written by King David when His son Absalom was trying to take the kingdom and kill his dad. We know David is known as a man after God's heart, and yet he faced many struggles.
Psalm 62:1-8 (TLB)
1 I stand silently before the Lord, waiting for him to rescue me. For salvation comes from him alone.
2 Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense, and fortress. Why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?
3 But what is this? They pick on me at a time when my throne is tottering;
4 they plot my death and use lies and deceit to try to force me from the throne. They are so friendly to my face while cursing in their hearts!
5 But I stand silently before the Lord, waiting for him to rescue me. For salvation comes from him alone.
6 Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense, and fortress—why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?
7 My protection and success come from God alone. He is my refuge, a Rock where no enemy can reach me.
8 O my people, trust him all the time. Pour out your longings before him, for he can help!
For believers today, Jesus is the only answer to our struggles, situations, fears, and needs that we will face. For our hope is from the Lord.
Lesson: The only hope that is unshakable is the hope that has already been shaken.
To have that unshakable hope, like King David, we must choose to trust God even during the darkest and uncertain times in our lives.
