The Privilege And Priority Of Prayer

Greetings to all, on this "grateful" Thursday, let us not forget the priority of our prayers, and may God receive them as a sweet aroma. Amen

Prayer is a privilege because our prayer puts us into God's presence. Prayer for the believers should be a priority and shouldn't be our last resort. Whether it's a calm whisper or a desperate plea, we should and can approach God always, morning until dark; we should communicate with God.

Psalm 141:1-2 (MSG)

1 A David psalm GOD, come close. Come quickly! Open your ears—it's my voice you're hearing!

2 Treat my prayer as sweet incense rising; my raised hands are my evening prayers.

So much can be said about what prayer is. However, only the effectual and sincere prayers according to God's will have the power to move Him! In the same way that the psalmist desired that his prayers were pleasing to God, we should have that same desire.

Matthew 6:5-6 (TLB)

5 "And now about prayer. When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who pretend piety by praying publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. Truly, that is all the reward they will ever get.

6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, all alone, and shut the door behind you and pray to your Father secretly, and your Father, who knows your secrets, will reward you.

Lesson: Incenses in the Bible are associated with prayer. We should continually let our prayers rise like a sweet fragrant aroma that rises up to God and pleases Him.
