Greetings to all, as we face the weekend this Saturday, let us try not to figure everything out but rest from the stress of what we've left behind. Amen
After a long week, the demands of life will cause us to be stressed. We often go from stress to rest.
According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, rest is: "to be free from anxiety or disturbance." Basically, freedom from anything that worries us upsets us and even angers us. Each of us is coming out the past week with our own experiences and our rest expectations.
Jesus would like nothing more than to be invited into our worried and stressful lives. He desires to handle the difficulties in our day-to-day lives.
Revelation 3:20 (NLT2)
20 "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
28 "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me, and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest.
29 Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
30 Keep company with me, and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
Lesson: Rest is not a luxury, but it is essential to recharge and relieve our physical, mental, and emotional tension. The power of rest will help to keep us from total burnout and help us not live a stressful and unhappy life.
