Greetings to all; on this "grateful" Thursday, let us keep our eyes open to see the beauty of God and the kindness of those we encounter.
While there is power in gratitude that helps us focus on what we have versus what we do not, we bend towards lack and negativity because of our sinful nature. Too often, we miss the goodness around us because we tend to close our eyes in complaint rather than keep our eyes open in gratitude.
Psalm 50:23 (GW)
23 Whoever offers thanks as a sacrifice honors me. I will let everyone who continues in my way see the salvation that comes from God."
Lesson: Let us remember to cultivate a heart of gratitude. From that heart, one of the true essences of worship is where giving and appreciation, not grumbling, will come.
"Keep your eyes open to your mercies. The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life." - Robert Louis Stevenson.
