Greetings to all; may our light shine wherever we worship this Sunday.
The word lets us know that as followers of Christ, we are to be the light of the world. Our light cannot be dependent on somebody else. It is essential for eternal life; we keep the light we carry ready and burning bright until Jesus comes.
Matthew 25:8–9 (NCV)
8 But the foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.'
9 The wise bridesmaids answered, 'No, the oil we have might not be enough for all of us. Go to the people who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'
Lesson: A partial quote: "I believe that each of us carries a bit of inner brightness, something unique and individual. A flame that's worth protecting." ― Michelle Obama, The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times
