Stop Covering It Up

Greetings to all. This Sunday, as we come together in worship, let us appropriately address the sins in our lives.

Most of us know the saying, " Sweeping under the rug." It is usually something we do not want anyone to see and hopefully not find. As believers, we must understand what sin does in our lives. Sins such as envy, deceit, or dishonesty, which we often cover up, limit our access to God's blessings. God's remedy for these hidden sins is for us first to own them, forsake them, and not try to cover them up but confess them to Him.

Proverbs 28:13 (GW)

13 Whoever covers over his sins does not prosper.  Whoever confesses and abandons them receives compassion.

Lesson: To receive God's mercy, we must be open and honest about dealing with our sins. We handle sin wrongfully when we try to hide and cover them up.
