Women @ the Well, on this Sunday, let us remain faithful together in our commitment to the good work of God for His Glory. Amen
There will be those times in our lives when others will help us in our endeavors to do great work but, there will also be those who will try to tempt or encourage us to abandon our God-given mission.
Whether it's in our communities, our church, or our children, each of us has some level of responsibility. We must not give in to the temptations to quit, and we must remain persistent. When we are persistent and committed to the responsibilities in our lives, God gets the Glory.
Nehemiah 6:1-4 (TLB)
1 When Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies found out that we had almost completed the rebuilding of the wall—though we had not yet hung all the doors of the gates—
2 they sent me a message asking me to meet them in one of the villages in the Plain of Ono. But I realized they were plotting to kill me,
3 so I replied by sending back this message to them: "I am doing a great work! Why should I stop to come and visit with you?"
4 Four times, they sent the same message, and each time I gave the same reply.
Lesson: Nehemiah stayed on the wall, despite the numerous requests for him to abandon his responsibility. As Christians, we, too, must remain on the wall and build together, not coming down until our mission is complete.
