Something To See!

Greetings to all, let us thank God for seeing another Sunday and give Him all the glory. Let us seek the vision to see this day and all that He has for us to hear, do and see. Amen

We live in a time like the Israelites coming out of the wilderness needing God's guidance, healing, and protection. Like them, we can become impatient and speak against those trying to help us by wanting to have and see more.

God instructed Moses to use the bronze serpent on a pole as a cure for healing. It served as a metaphor and a foreshadowing of Himself, God our healer, being lifted up.

Numbers 21:4-9 (GW)

4 Then they moved from Mount Hor, following the road that goes to the Red Sea, in order to get around Edom. The people became impatient on the trip

5 and criticized God and Moses. They said, "Why did you make us leave Egypt—just to let us die in the desert? There's no bread or water, and we can't stand this awful food!"

6 So the LORD sent poisonous snakes among the people. They bit the people, and many of the Israelites died.

7 The people came to Moses and said, "We sinned when we criticized the LORD and you. Pray to the LORD so that he will take the snakes away from us." So Moses prayed for the people.

8 The LORD said to Moses, "Make a snake, and put it on a pole. Anyone who is bitten can look at it and live."

9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole. People looked at the bronze snake after they were bitten, and they lived.

The sooner we learn that things are not always what they look like, we will see that God is still in control, and instead of grumbling and complaining, we will seek to be obedient to God's word and look to what Jesus did on the cross for us to live.

Philippians 2:14-15 (GW)

14 Do everything without complaining or arguing.

15 Then you will be blameless and innocent. You will be God's children without any faults among people who are crooked and corrupt. You will shine like stars among them in the world.

Exodus 15:26 (NLT2)

26 He said, "If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all His decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you."

Lesson: There is nothing new under the sun! The next time you see an ambulance, pay attention to the medical symbol. You will see the serpent on a pole.

God is all-powerful and all-knowing; He wants us to learn from the experiences of those of time past who He is and what He expects from His Children as we journey from slavery of sin to eternal life.

We must yield to his directions for living and realize He does not cause some things to happen, but, He allows them. Everything must come through His hands. He wants us to see Him and not focus on our circumstances.
