Greetings to all; as we begin this new week, let us not put too much trust in ourselves.
In Christ, we are awesome, and it is good for us to believe in ourselves. The word lets us know that we can do all things in Christ because He is the one who gives us the strength to do the things we do. However, it can become problematic when we trust ourselves more than the Lord.
Isaiah 64:6 (GW)
6 We’ve all become unclean, and all our righteous acts are like permanently stained rags. We all wither like leaves, and our sins carry us away like the wind.
Lesson: It is selfish of us to consider our work good. No matter how much we believe in ourselves, we still need God. Any good without God we see in ourselves is not truly good and serves no purpose for anyone but ourselves.
