Greetings to all, let us thank God for a new day and the start of a new week. Let us pray that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will see everything through the eyes of Christ. May He go before us and make our crooked paths straight. Amen
As we begin each day this new week, no matter how bad things look, we must look at them from a different point of view. If we don't want the problems and disappointments in life to get us down and out, we need to see them from God's perspective. He knows all and will help us.
We will not always be able to see the bigger picture; because the Lord tells us, "His thoughts are not like our thoughts, our ways are not like His ways (Isaiah 55:8); however, we don't have to focus on the bad so much that we don't see the good.
With God on our side, no matter how hard things appear to look and feel, we can have faith that some good on the other side will come from it. God's grace and His mercy will always make everything work out for the best.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (MSG)
7 Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty!
8 At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that,
9 and then he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness.
10 Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.
Lesson: When we trust God and see things the way he looks at them, we can take our eyes off the painful and disappointing circumstances in our lives. Often, the reason for the pain and disappointment is to bring attention to God's goodness.
