Greetings to all, as we begin this new week, pausing to honor and reflect on those who lost their lives for our freedom, let us also remember God's faithfulness and how He helps us remember what He says to us through the Holy Spirit. Amen
Our memories can be powerful. We have so many things to remember, some good and some bad. You have many good memories if you're like me, but you also have bad ones that will crop up in your mind from time to time that you will like to forget.
Sometimes the remembrance of the pain and stress from our past can be devastating and unbearable. They steal our joy and make us feel broken and forget the good that God has done in our lives.
Thank God that we serve a God who reminds us that we are not our past. God wants us to remember to whom we belong and all the good He desires to do for us.
Psalm 77:11-12 (NLT2)
11 But then I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.
12 They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.
Lesson: God has given us memories, but He doesn't want us to remember the things that He has forgotten. He doesn't want us to fail to remember His faithfulness and His goodness.
