Peace On Earth

Greetings to all, on this Monday, let us ask God for the vision to see and an open heart of faith to believe and receive His promise of peace. A promise of peace that surpasses our human understanding. Amen

As we press our way in this Advent season of celebrating Jesus, let us shift our focus to peace that we often pray for with eager expectation; and let us make room for Him in our hearts.

Despite our world being in the midst of constant chaos, there is a promise from God that we can still experience peace here on earth. This year has and continues to test our faith and our will to trust in the Lord.

We often expect peace to be immediate and for our lives to be free of trouble, pain, and disappointments. Our life experiences let us know that following Christ is not easy, and neither was it promised to be easy.

Jesus said:

John 16:33 (NLT2)

33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

There was a promise of better days with the birth of Jesus; a ruler would come from Bethlehem.

Micah 5:2-5a (NCV)

2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are too small to be among the army groups from Judah, from you will come one who will rule Israel for me. He comes from very old times, from days long ago.

3 The LORD will give up his people until the one who is having a baby gives birth; then the rest of his relatives will return to the people of Israel.

4 At that time, the ruler of Israel will stand and take care of his people with the LORD'S strength and with the power of the name of the LORD his God. The Israelites will live in safety because his greatness will reach all over the earth.

5 He will bring peace.

Lesson: God Gives us peace in small and insignificant ways. He chose the humblest beginning to send Jesus the King of Peace into the world.

He came as a baby, and the world couldn't comprehend His destiny.
