Greetings to all, as we begin this new day, week, and this new month of February, let us be reminded of the importance of prioritizing God daily in our lives. May He give each of us the grace and wisdom to serve Him and be a blessing to those we encounter. Amen
With certainty and no ifs ands or buts about it, many of us have probably has caused some trouble or chaos at some point and time in our lives by having the wrong priorities in life. However, we can be thankful that we serve a loving God that loves us and will never give up on us.
John 10:10 (AMP)
10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
If we're going to live our lives as God's people, we are told to set our affections on things above and not the things below. Meaning we should prioritize our affections by focusing on eternal things and not these temporal things such as materialism and fleshly desires.
Colossians 3:1-2 (GW)
1 Since you were brought back to life with Christ, focus on the things that are above—where Christ holds the highest position.
2 Keep your mind on things above, not on worldly things.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT2)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
There's no denying that it can be a struggle to seek the things that we can not see, but our priorities will fall in place with our efforts to seek first God's kingdom.
Lesson: First things first, each day, we must ask ourselves what is most important to us because people, material possessions, success, and other desires all compete for priority in our lives every day.
Any of these can easily and quickly become most important to us if we don't make an earnest effort to choose to give God first place in every area of our lives.
