Greetings to all, let us start this "grateful" Thursday by thanking God for His goodness, and let us acknowledge our daily dependency on Him. Amen
Our perfect Father in heaven provides us with every good thing in our lives, and He knows what we need. We depend on Him to take care of us, our families, health, joy, and much more. He welcomes us to come to Him to tell Him what it is that we need or want each day.
Matthew 6:7-11 (NRSV)
7 "When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 "Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
John 6:47-51 (NLT2)
47 "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life.
48 Yes, I am the bread of life!
49 Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died.
50 Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die.
51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh."
Lesson: Just as we eat physical bread to sustain our physical bodies, the word of God feeds our spirits and is our daily bread.
