Obey God Rather Than Men

Greetings to all, let us thank God for a new day and the desire to worship, follow, walk in obedience, and show our love for what He has done for us. Amen

Many of us are accustomed to proving our love for others by doing something, giving something, even spending time with them. Jesus spent much of His time on earth with His disciples, teaching them of the kingdom to come.

When the time came, He departed, giving His life. Because of what Christ did on the cross, we are no longer living under the law but under grace. However, we are expected to be obedient and responsible citizens living holy lives keeping His commandments to show Him our love.

John 14:15 (AMP)

15 If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

Jesus didn't want His followers to go around grieving and feeling sorry after His death. They realized that they must obey God instead of people.

Acts 5:29-32 (NCV)

29 Peter and the other apostles answered, "We must obey God, not human authority!

30 You killed Jesus by hanging him on a cross. But God, the God of our ancestors, raised Jesus up from the dead!

31 Jesus is the One whom God raised to be on his right side, as Leader and Savior. Through him, all Jewish people could change their hearts and lives and have their sins forgiven.

32 We saw all these things happen. The Holy Spirit, whom God has given to all who obey him, also proves these things are true. "

Lesson: We must know and understand that God wants and expects us to live in peace with everyone. However, there will be times when we will need to be bold to speak the word.

Being Bold will sometimes cause conflicts, and we will have to decide whether to obey God or other people. We must always trust God's word and obey Him and not other people.
