No Shortcuts

Greetings to all, on this Friday, let us thank God for going before us, clearing our way, and giving us the wisdom and endurance to stay on the right path. Amen

To fulfill God's plans, purpose and to walk out our Christian life as God's people, each of us must choose to stay on the right path. While shortcuts are the desired path for many who want quick gratification and want to take the path of least resistance, the good follows a path of righteousness. There are times when we shouldn't take shortcuts. They can be tempting, dangerous, and costly.

Struggles are inevitable; God often uses them to strengthen us and get us to where He wants us. Our journeys or paths are more significant than where we find ourselves at any given time in life. Greater than our jobs, lifestyles, or circumstances.

Exodus 13:17-18 (RSV)

17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, "Lest the people repent when they see war, and return to Egypt."

18 But God led the people around by way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.

Proverbs 12:28 (RSV)

28 In the path of righteousness is life, but the way of error leads to death.

Lesson: Whether we experience suffering or joy on our path, God doesn't always lead us through or down the shortest paths.
