Greetings to all, thank God we have made it to Friday. Let us thank Him for the privilege of being in His presence and for meeting us where we're at in life. Amen
King David asked the question, where could he go to escape the presence of God? The answer to him was nowhere, and the answer remains the same for each of us today.
Psalm 139:7-12 (GW)
7 Where can I go {to get away} from your Spirit? Where can I run {to get away} from you?
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in hell, you are there.
9 If I climb upward on the rays of the morning sun {or} land on the most distant shore of the sea where the sun sets,
10 even there, your hand would guide me, and your right hand would hold on to me.
11 If I say, "Let the darkness hide me and let the light around me turn into night,"
12 even the darkness is not too dark for you. Night is as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same {to you}.
What a week we're having. Besides all of life's usual circumstances, our nation is going through trying times. Despite being filled with the Holy Spirit, many hearts feel empty or filled with chaos and confusion, and souls feel abandoned and depleted.
We all may have poured out more mentally and emotionally this week than we have wanted to.
When we feel empty or full of doubt and confusion, we can get the strength and peace we need from choosing to rest in having more of Jesus and less of ourselves.
John 3:30-33 (HCSB)
30 He must increase, but I must decrease."
31 The One who comes from above is above all. The One who is from the earth is earthly and speaks in earthly terms. The One who comes from heaven is above all.
32 He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.
33 The One who has accepted His testimony has affirmed that God is true.
Lesson: As Christians, we must be mindful not to put more emphasis on our achievements than on God's Kingdom.
Jesus must increase in importance in our lives, and we must decrease in importance. Then we must allow the Holy Spirit to fill us completely.
He, the Holy Spirit, will not allow room for worry, doubt, and negativity to get the better of us.
