Greetings to all, let us on this Saturday, those who are entering into rest from this past week's work; continue to seek God and trust in His holy word eagerly and with sincerity. Amen
Many tend to be all about the business of living the good life, and While Good things may be happening in our lives each day, God wants us, even in our rest, to focus on the best thing in life, which is Him.
Psalm 32:8-11 (GW)
8 {The LORD says,} "I will instruct you. I will teach you the way that you should go. I will advise you as my eyes watch over you.
9 Don't be stubborn like a horse or mule. {They need} a bit and bridle in their mouth to restrain them, or they will not come near you."
10 Many heartaches await wicked people, but mercy surrounds those who trust the LORD.
11 Be glad and find joy in the LORD, you righteous people. Sing with joy, all whose motives are decent.
Quote: The only thing good is if we come and rest in the life of Christ, who is the real Lamb of God. Then He can change our hearts, He can change our desires, and He can change our thoughts.
– Russell M. Stendal
Psalm 127:2 (NLT2)
2 It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
Lesson: God is not against our hard work efforts. However, He did set the example for us at creation to rest. He does not want us to work so much that we do not rest or neglect our families.
In life, we all need a reasonable amount of rest and times of spiritual refreshment. Our most earnest desire should be to have and maintain a relationship with God whereby we are lead, encouraged, guided, and have our hearts enlightened by the truth of His word.
