Greetings to all, as we move through this season of Advent, let us pause today in worship to remember the Love that God has for us that He would send his Son to earth for us! Amen
To those who do not know the love of God, it could seem like this month is about buying and giving presents, and about decorating and food.
Not far away now Christmas is only a few weeks away, we must not forget the real reason for the season; it's really about love.
John 3:16-17 (TLB)
16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
God has set the perfect example of what love is. Our actions and our ways will tell everything about us. We are called to show love to our families and our neighbors all year round, not just during this season.
1 John 3:18-19 (GW)
18 Dear children, we must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words.
19 This is how we will know that we belong to the truth and how we will be reassured in his presence.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (HCSB)
4 Love is patient; love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited,
5 does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs.
6 ⌊Love⌋ finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.
7 ⌊It⌋ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
Lesson: God is love, and anything done that doesn't have God in it is empty. Let us seek to love like we have been loved.
