Greetings to all, on this "hump" day Wednesday, let us find satisfaction in knowing who we are and whose we are. Amen
We often struggle in life because we have a problem knowing who we are. One of our most powerful superpowers is knowing that we are enough. There are many answers that we give when asked who we are. Rarely do we say up front that we're a child of God. We often focus on our accomplishments or our brokenness, not our identity in Christ.
Knowing Christ helps us know and understand ourselves. It gives us the knowledge and confidence to be who God created us to be. We are free from our past and the opinions of others because we know our limits and capabilities through Christ that makes us worthy in His sight.
Luke 5:5-8 (TLB)
5 "Sir," Simon replied, "we worked hard all last night and didn't catch a thing. But if you say so, we'll try again."
6 And this time, their nets were so full that they began to tear!
7 A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.
8 When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, "Oh, sir, please leave us—I'm too much of a sinner for you to have around."
Lesson: Know thyself. Accept thyself. Love
thyself. No matter what you have
done, where you have been, know,
accept, and love who you are.
