Greetings to all, let us thank God for this new day. As we continue to walk through this season of Lent, let us reflect on Jesus's relentless desire to be our Savior and always going before us, showing us the way. Amen
Many want to be great but don't want to do what it takes. During Jesus's life on earth, He shows us what it takes to be a great servant leader by leading the way.
God has chosen and appointed many of us, and there are times we will be like those doing Jesus's days on earth. We will find ourselves amazed, sometimes afraid, and even oblivious to His divine appointment for our lives. We are easily tempted to give up and want to quit.
Hebrews 5:1 (NCV)
1 Every high priest is chosen from among other people. He is given the work of going before God for them to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.
Mark 10:32-34 (NCV)
32 As Jesus and the people with him were on the road to Jerusalem, he was leading the way. His followers were amazed, but others in the crowd who followed were afraid. Again Jesus took the twelve apostles aside and began to tell them what was about to happen in Jerusalem.
33 He said, "Look, we are going to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be turned over to the leading priests and the teachers of the law. They will say that he must die, and they will turn him over to the non-Jewish people,
34 who will laugh at him and spit on him. They will beat him with whips and crucify him. But on the third day, he will rise to life again. "
Lesson: We can learn a lesson from the example that Jesus shows as He does not give up as He leads the way to Jerusalem.
Jesus knew what would happen to Him; He clearly explained to His twelve disciples those closest to Him as He was moving towards His divine appointment.
But they didn't get it. Let us ask God to help us keep serving and going even when we don't get it and are tempted to give up and quit.
