I Want To Believe God Loves Me

Greetings to all, we have reached another weekend, and no matter what we have come through or where we are now, I pray that each of our hearts is filled with God's love. Amen

The world offers us many things to believe in or not to believe in. During difficult times, is when we have our doubts about the Love that God has for us. We feel that surely, He can't love me, we say, you don't know what I've done, or we ask why this is happening to me.

That is just where the enemy (the devil) wants us to place our focus. He wants us to hide in shame and guilt, making us live our lives feeling defeated. When we're living a defeated life, we are not drawing others to Christ.

We only need to read the bible to see that many people messed up, but God uses them all to carry out His great plan for saving humanity. And He wants to use each of us!

As Christians, we know that there is no condemnation when we are in Christ, Jesus.

Romans 8:1 (NCV)

1 So now, those who are in Christ Jesus are not judged guilty.

Romans 8:31-34 (TLB)

31 What can we ever say to such wonderful things as these? If God is on our side, who can ever be against us?

32 Since he did not spare even his own Son for us but gave him up for us all, won't he also surely give us everything else?

33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? Will God? No! He is the one who has forgiven us and given us right standing with himself.

34 Who then will condemn us? Will Christ? No! For he is the one who died for us and came back to life again for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to God, pleading for us there in heaven.

1 John 4:16-17 (GW)

16 We have known and believed that God loves us. God is love. Those who live in God's love live in God, and God lives in them.

17 God's love has reached its goal in us. So we look ahead with confidence to the day of judgment. While we are in this world, we are exactly like him {with regard to love}.

Romans 8:37-39 (GW)

37 The one who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties.

38 I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love, which Christ Jesus our Lord shows us. We can't be separated by death or life, by angels or rulers, by anything in the present or anything in the future, by forces

39 or powers in the world above or in the world below, or by anything else in creation.

Lesson: After a long week, get some rest and be absolutely certain that no matter what we are going through or how many things we might have gotten wrong, we can believe God loves us!
