Hope That Anchors Our Soul

Greetings to all, as we face the start of this new day, let us prepare our hearts through prayer for what this new week will bring with it. May our lives be filled with great hope and strength as we recognize the many possibilities that present themselves for our spiritual growth. Amen.

Many are struggling to find hope during these dark and depressing times. Despite all the world's darkness, our hope in Christ is unshakably anchored to God's word.

God's word is full of His will, His plans, and purposes for His people. We can rest assured on His word because He does not lie. We have a blessed hope that is steady and firm as an anchor to see us through our stormy trials of life so that we won't be tossed about with every changing wind of doubt and uncertainty.

Ephesians 4:14 (NLT2)

14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

Hebrews 6:17-20 (NCV)

17 God wanted to prove that his promise was true to those who would get what he promised. And he wanted them to understand clearly that his purposes never change, so he made an oath.

18 These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he makes a promise, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given.

19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and strong. It enters behind the curtain in the Most Holy Place in heaven,

20 where Jesus has gone ahead of us and for us. He has become the high priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek.

**Melchizedek: (no beginning and no end)**

Lesson: In His word, God has given us His unchangeable and unshakeable promises that give us the strength to hold on to the hope that we have been given.

As we find ourselves struggling to find hope, let us latch onto the blessed promised hope with both hands and never let go.
