Greetings to all, on this Sunday, let us thank God for equipping each of us for our God-given mission in and out of the church. Amen
We all want affirmation. Mostly we want to feel that we are loved, wanted, and even needed. One way we can have the opportunity of experiencing those feelings is when we accept the invitation to invest in and freely be a part of God's universal church, God's mission.
Although Christ is head of the church, there is no perfect community church. The church's work is not new or unfamiliar; it has been offered across many generations; the mission is eternal.
As we accept the incredible and extraordinary challenge of being a part of God's mission in the church, let us not ask what the church can do for us but what we can do for the church.
John 4:35 (TLB)
35 Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields of human souls are ripening all around us and are ready now for reaping.
Psalm 115:1 (GW)
1 Don't give glory to us, O LORD. Don't give glory to us. Instead, give glory to your name because of your mercy and faithfulness.
Lesson: We need to know that while God loves us, He does not require us to only go to church; His desire is for us to be the church, living Christ-like lives, love others, and share the message of Salvation.
