Greetings to all, on this Friday, let us show the same grace and mercy to others as God has shown to us. Let our words and actions reflect kindness and respect for all. Amen
We all want to know that we are valued, and nothing hurts more than being disrespected. We can't force anyone to respect us, but we don't have to put up with the disrespect.
God's word calls for us to be kind to others and show respect, especially those in authority.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-15 (MSG)
12 And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience.
13 Overwhelm them with appreciation and love! Get along among yourselves, each of you doing your part.
14 Our counsel is that you warn the freeloaders to get a move on. Gently encourage the stragglers, and reach out for the exhausted, pulling them to their feet. Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs.
15 And be careful that when you get on each other's nerves, you don't snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out.
Lesson: Respect is a huge deal, and living for God doesn't guarantee we will receive it. We often find ourselves doing anything to earn respect from others. When we live for God, He gives us the grace to show respect and give value to everyone, even those who don't deserve it.
