Greetings to all, on this "grateful" Thursday, let's thank God for waking us up and giving us another chance to bless His holy name. May He continue to make us whole, touch all who need healing, and comfort all who are mourning. Amen.
Our desired way of living is to be happy. Happiness is the key to life and is a gift from God. However, there will be times when we don't think we can make it. We live daily hanging on by a thread, with issues in our lives that embarrass and isolate us and fill us with hopelessness.
Rather than reaching out to the Lord when we know that we need something more in our lives, we seek to fill what weighs us down by reaching for and holding on to the world's things that will more times than not lead us to more emptiness.
If we want to be healed from our issues, we must first acknowledge that we indeed have an issue. We can learn a lesson from the woman in the bible who had the issue of blood for twelve long years. She was determined and sought to touch the hem of Jesus's garment for her healing.
Luke 8:43-48 (NLT2)
43 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure.
44 Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.
45 "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, "Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you."
46 But Jesus said, "Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me."
47 When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees before him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed.
48 "Daughter," he said to her, "your faith has made you well. Go in peace."
Lesson: Each of us must never give up because God is in reach and always makes Himself available. We must rise above our hopelessness to seek to be in His presence by whatever means within reach.
We must defy every obstacle, and with courage and faith, find Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, daring to touch Him through a relationship, having an encounter that will transform our lives and set us free.
