Greetings to all, on this blessed Sunday, may God give us the strength to keep living a righteous and holy life. May we be wise enough to discern and avoid the distractions and temptations of the evil one. Amen
Although temptations and distractions in our lives can be non-stop, God tells us to be holy because He is holy.
To the unbelievers, the church may look like it has fallen apart and off its foundation. Many have become disconnected from the church; they have gotten comfortable with not going to church and haven't realized that they have fallen out of the church.
The bible has many lessons and commands intended to help us avoid the danger of falling away.
1 Timothy 4:1-2 (TLB)
1 But the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some in the church will turn away from Christ and become eager followers of teachers with devil-inspired ideas.
2 These teachers will tell lies with straight faces and do it so often that their consciences won't even bother them.
Matthew 24:10-11 (MSG)
10 And then, going from bad to worse, it will be dog-eat-dog, everyone at each other's throat, everyone hating each other.
11 "In the confusion, lying preachers will come forward and deceive a lot of people.
Lesson: Intentionally or not, falling away tends to be much easier; remaining holy and keeping the faith seem to be our biggest challenges.
When we find ourselves falling away, we should ask God to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit, and we must continue to maintain and demonstrate our faith no matter what's going on around us.
