Greetings to all, on this Monday, let us use wisdom and a discerning spirit when it comes to those we interact with this week.
Because not everyone will be for us in this world, we need to recognize friends and foes alike. Despite cultivating and growing our spiritual character daily, this principle applies to leaders and ordinary everyday people as well.
Some people tend to say one thing while doing another. Seeing people for who they are is not always an easy thing to do. But, the words let us know that we will be known and know others as trees by the fruit we produce in our lives.
Matthew 7:16-18 (NLT2)
16 You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 A good tree produces good fruit, and a wrong tree produces bad fruit.
18 A good tree can't produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can't produce good fruit.
Lesson: Although we need to be able to trust others, Jesus is our unfailing friend. The great American poet Mya Angelou famously said: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time."
