For God, It's All Or Nothing

Greetings to all, we can face this Tuesday with faith and assurance; let us surrender EVERYTHING to the Lord and say, "Bless the Lord O, my soul, with all that is within me, bless His holy name"! Amen.

At some point and time in each of our lives, we may find ourselves struggling with our faith. If we profess that we're a Christian who is following Christ but struggles with our faith, we may feel uncomfortable or guilty and won't share how we're feeling with others of like faith for fear of being judged.

On the flip side, we may not have chosen to follow Christ and are secretly seeking Him and don't want to share for fear of being ashamed or judged by others who do not believe.

Either way, we are all expected to decide whether we're going to serve God. We have two options, with no in-between; we can either be cold or hot.

We can learn a lesson from the letter written to the church in Laodicea. The warning to all, God doesn't want us to be in the middle, on the fence, or lukewarm; when it's a matter of our faith and trust in Him, "It's all or nothing."

Matthew 12:30 (MSG)

30  "This is war, and there is no neutral ground. If you're not on my side, you're the enemy; if you're not helping, you're making things worse.

Revelation 3:15-16 (HCSB)

15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot.

16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth.

Psalm 16:5-9 (GW)

5 The LORD is my inheritance and my cup. You are the one who determines my destiny.

6 Your boundary lines mark out pleasant places for me. Indeed, my inheritance is something beautiful.

7 I will praise the LORD, who advises me. My conscience warns me at night.

8 I always keep the LORD in front of me. When he is by my side, I cannot be moved.

9 That is why my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices. My body rests securely.

Lesson: There will be times we may lapse in our faith; however, If we are expecting the blessings of God, we must be aware daily of our spiritual temperature, and we must live our lives fully devoted to God.
