Fair-Weather Friends

Writer: NamieNamie

Greetings to all. As we journey through life, let us be thoughtful and selective about the people we choose to call our friends.

Life can often be complicated. Where would we be without those who are true friends versus those we call friends? Knowing who to trust can be difficult as we navigate life's uncertain journey. Even those closest to us can pretend to care, only to turn on us. When forming friendships, we must select those who have mutual respect, improve or enhance our lives, and will be with us in difficult times.

Psalm 41:9 (NLT)

9 Even my best friend, the one I trusted completely, who shared my food, has turned against me.

Lesson: Rather than quickly labeling everyone as friends, let us enter the relationships we form with intention and care. Carefully choosing those we honor with the title of a friend can save us from fair-weather friends who will leave us during difficult times and from the sting of betrayal.
