Greetings to all, we've made it to the weekend, this means that we didn't quit, and we didn't give up! May the Lord continue to give us strength in our weakness and faith when we're fearful. Because the Lord heard our prayers, we can rest assured that everything is going to be alright. Amen.
As we continue to live through this pandemic and everything else that life has to throw at us, we can't help but worry. We tend to worry about things like our health, money, and family issues. We worry even when there is little or no reason to worry.
The Bible has a lot to say about worrying, "not to spoil the ending, but everything will be ALRIGHT"!
Deuteronomy 31:6 (GW)
6 Be strong and courageous. Don't tremble! Don't be afraid of them! The LORD, your God, is the one who is going with you. He won't abandon you or leave you."
Just like Moses reminded the people that God had promised to remain with them, protect them, bless them, and fight for them; that same promise still stands today.
Jesus made the same promise to His church (Matthew 28:20). In the scripture below, Jesus tells us not to worry about the things that God promises to supply.
Matthew 6:25-34 (GW)
25 "So I tell you to stop worrying about what you will eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothes?
26 "Look at the birds. They don't plant, harvest, or gather the harvest into barns. Yet, your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you worth more than they?
27 "Can any of you add a single hour to your life by worrying?
28 "And why worry about clothes? Notice how the flowers grow in the field. They never work or spin yarn for clothes.
29 But I say that not even Solomon in all his majesty was dressed like one of these flowers.
30 That's the way God clothes the grass in the field. Today it's alive, and tomorrow it's thrown into an incinerator. So how much more will he clothe you people who have so little faith?
31 "Don't ever worry and say, 'What are we going to eat?' or 'What are we going to drink?' or 'What are we going to wear?'
32 Everyone is concerned about these things, and your heavenly Father certainly knows you need all of them.
33 But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.
34 "So don't ever worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Philippians 4:6 (TLB)
6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers.
Lesson: Worry weighs a person down (Proverbs 12:25a). The word doesn't discourage us from planning for the future, but it does prohibit us from worrying about it.
We are to "Give our entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what has happened or may not happen tomorrow.
God will help us deal with whatever hard things come up when that time comes (Matthew 6:34).
The Psalmist David says: For I cried to him and he answered me! He freed me from all my fears, (Psalms 34:4, TLB).
