Greetings to all, let us thank God for bringing us to another blessed weekend. This Saturday morning, let us pray for the children around the world, and for those who have their best interest at heart, and are trying to work out a plan for them to go back to school safely.
As parents, grandparents, administrators, and adults, it is so important that we cover our children in prayer. As we try to navigate through this pandemic, we've come face to face with the challenge of whether to allow students to go back into schools or to study via the internet.
Regardless of our children's age, we all want our children to be safe and desperately want to protect them from bodily harm. As much as we desire physical safety for our children, we also long for their spiritual protection.
As Christian parents, we want our children to be saved and covered by the blood of Jesus, and that they will grow up knowing, loving, and obeying God's Word.
We must teach our children while they are young if they are going to be aware of and be responsive to the Holy Spirit's work in their lives as they grow.
Psalm 145:4 (NCV)
4 Parents will tell their children what you have done. They will retell your mighty acts,
1 Samuel 1:10-11 (NCV)
10 Hannah was so sad that she cried and prayed to the LORD.
11 She made a promise, saying, "LORD All-Powerful, see how sad I am. Remember me and don't forget me. If you will give me a son, I will give him back to you all his life, and no one will ever cut his hair with a razor. "
1 Samuel 1:26-28 (NCV)
26 She said to Eli, "As surely as you live, sir, I am the same woman who stood near you praying to the LORD.
27 I prayed for this child, and the LORD answered my prayer and gave him to me.
28 Now I give him back to the LORD. He will belong to the LORD all his life. "And he worshiped the LORD there.
Hannah's story is a beautiful story of the power of answered prayer. She shows us the importance of praying to the Lord, telling Him about our problems (1 Samuel 1:15).
Lesson: We must pray for those making the decisions whether the children return to the classrooms or study via the internet.
We must pray for the emotional, physical, and spiritual protection over the children as they prepare to continue their education.
We are free to make our decisions, good or bad, but it is the Lord, who, in the end, accomplishes His purposes in and through us.
