Greetings to all, thank God for allowing us to make it to this "hump" day Wednesday! As we continue to journey through this week, let us continue to lean on and trust God when we are weak and find ourselves in uncertain, confusing, and hard-pressed times. Amen
We can find ourselves facing many stressful feelings with each passing day, but we must not give up. "Some days are diamonds; some are coal. Every day is a golden opportunity for us to grow, demonstrate God's love and gratefulness, impacting the world around us in every right way."
God has never promised us a stress-free life, but he said:
Isaiah 66:9a (NCV)
9 In the same way, I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, "says the LORD.
We are stronger than we think when we keep a positive outlook. Knowing that God always completes what He promises, we can confidently survive our stressful, uncertain, and sometimes unpleasant times.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NCV)
8 We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living.
9 We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed.
During times of trouble, we must trust God even more. It will be doing these times that our faith will get it's most significant growth.
Lesson: Quote from Alice Walker:
"Some periods of our growth are so confusing that we don't even recognize that growth is happening...Those long periods when something inside ourselves seems to be waiting, holding its breath, unsure about what the next step should be, eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those periods that we realize that we are being prepared for the next phase of our life and that, in all probability, a new level of the personality is about to be revealed."
