Greetings to all, on this "grateful" Thursday, let us humbly release any bitterness from our past. Let's thank God for all the blessings this week, and let us boldly move forward into the number of blessings that He has for each of us. Amen
Challenging times causes pinned up emotions that sooner or later come bursting out. We should expect that every trial or test in our lives will have the ability to make us bitter or better. However, they only come to make us strong.
We all have the responsibility to choose one or the other and to know that our characters will be revealed not by our efforts during happy and good times but by our actions when things are not going our way.
2 Peter 3:17 (NCV)
17 Dear friends, since you already know about this, be careful. Do not let those evil people lead you away by the wrong they do. Be careful so you will not fall from your strong faith.
Romans 12:21 (MSG)
21 Don't let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.
1 Peter 1:7 (NLT2)
7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
1 Peter 2:1 (TLB)
1 So get rid of your feelings of hatred. Don't just pretend to be good! Be done with dishonesty and jealousy and talking about others behind their backs.
Lesson: Bitterness is a miserable place to be. If we are going to live as God's people, we should strive not to be bitter people but better people.
When we are bitter, we can block or delay the power and the ability to do better and to be better.
