Being Fruitful And Humble

Greetings to all, let us thank God for the opportunity to have our hearts renewed and strengthen this Holy week and that we have a closer walk with Jesus as we reflect on His determination to journey to the cross. Amen

With each new day, we have our expectations of what the day will bring. As we enter the Holy Week, many of us are hungry for a new beginning. Let us be the best that we can! We can only form a mental image of what it must have been like for Jesus as He moved closer to fulfilling the purpose and plan of His Father, giving His life up for ours.

Mark 11:12-14 (NCV)

12 The next day as Jesus was leaving Bethany, he became hungry.

13 Seeing a fig tree in leaf from far away, he went to see if it had any figs on it. But he found no figs, only leaves, because it was not the right season for figs.

14 So Jesus said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again. "And Jesus' followers heard him say this.

Matthew 27:11-12 (NCV)

11 Jesus stood before Pilate the governor, and Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews? "Jesus answered, "Those are your words. "

12 When the leading priests and the older leaders accused Jesus, he said nothing.

This week marks the week we reflect on the best promise and possibilities of having a fresh and new start in our spiritual lives. While for Jesus, we see that He got hungry and cursed a fig tree, and the religious leaders would challenge His authority and divine identity.

Lesson: Despite it being the end of Jesus's earthly life, He continued to teach His disciples and us important lessons about being fruitful and shows us a great example of remaining humble in the face of our accusers.

Let us not be unfruitful this week, just in case Jesus comes by our way; we don't want to be found having nothing but leaves and bearing no fruit. Let us not focus on being right but humbled.
