Greetings to all; as we progress through life, we must embrace who we are and resist the desire to fit in.
Having friends throughout life is essential. However, engaging the enemy and compromising who we are only to rise to the top or to fit in can be dangerous. Scripture warns us not to be friends with the world and the people who make the world their friends.
James 4:4–5 (GW)
4 You unfaithful people! Don’t you know that love for this ⸤evil⸥ world is hatred toward God? Whoever wants to be a friend of this world is an enemy of God.
5 Do you think this passage means nothing? It says, “The Spirit that lives in us wants us to be his own.”
Lesson: Our main priority should be to strive to be Godly, not worldly. No matter who we are, a friendship with the world makes us an enemy of God.
