Greetings to all, let us thank God for His new mercies each day and a life full of promises. May He continue to take care of our every need through the blessings of His son Jesus. Amen
The cares of this life can and often make us feel emotionally and physically drained, however, we can, and we must continue to keep going. God has promised to be with us and to see us through. He has promised us a living hope in Jesus Christ.
As Christians, our hope begins and ends with our belief and confession that Jesus is the son of God resurrected from the dead. Any hope that does not include Christ is meaningless and temporary at best.
1 Peter 1:3-4 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
Luke 10:17-20 (NCV)
17 When the seventy-two came back, they were very happy and said, “Lord, even the demons obeyed us when we used your name! “
18 Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven.
19 Listen, I have given you power to walk on snakes and scorpions, power that is greater than the enemy has. So nothing will hurt you.
20 But you should not be happy because the spirits obey you but because your names are written in Heaven. “
Lesson: We must not make the mistake of thinking that our hope comes from our possessions or what we do.
Our hope comes from who we are in Christ! We can rejoice because our names are written in Heaven.
